Sunday was my birthday… I’m officially 24! Usually I don’t really enjoy my birthday. I have tons of expectations of a super fun day and it usually comes out pretty flat. Not this year! My great friend through a little get together for Jordan and I the week before which was super fun. For the day of I wanted something simple, fun, and unorganized. Go out to lunch with a few of my favorite people and eat ice cream cake. That’s just what happened. We went went to church in the morning, went out to eat with friends, and ate ice cream cake. Can’t get much better than that! But it did a few days previous….
Friday in the mail we received a card. A plain white card that had $30 in it and said “Use for a date night.” No signature, no return address. Someone anonymously gave us money and did not want anything in return or even for us to know who they are. I wish I could explain the gratitude I felt when we got that letter. That might be the nicest thing anyone has ever done for us. I’m so thankful for the amazing people God has blessed me with. Every year seems to get better and better. I’m thankful for my husband who continually prayed that I get more christian women friends and I’m so thankful that God answered that prayer better than I could have hoped! Not only did he give me amazing Godly woman, but also couples and awesome friends for Neil’s too!
Remember how I said that my birthday wasn’t flat? Well Sunday night I got the flu…. Horrible horrible flu. I was up all night getting sick and barely slept a wink. Which brings me to my back to my husband. God blessed me with a man that is a wonderful server. He is always trying to do special things for me normally. When I was sick he almost did everything for me! I could barely walk I was so sick. He did the dishes and there were the lots of dishes! But of course I had to share and get him sick too. Poor Neil! Luckily I don’t think he had it as bad as I did. He bounces back pretty fast!
There has been so many other little ways lately like my awesome internship and a few other things! I’m so excited with what God has been doing in my life and excited what else he is going to do in the future! Those are just some of the ways I have been feeling blessed lately! That’s really awesome someone gave you guys money for a date night! It’s so much fun getting surprised like that out of the blue. One time I was out to dinner with the hubby and some friends of ours (who were also eating out at the same place) bought us THREE desserts to share. It really is neat how God provides cool things through people!
